EUQR

QR.io alternative with euro pricing and EU-hosted scans

Looking for a QR.io alternative? EUQR starts at €0.99 per month instead of one $39.99 plan, gives you free static codes without a trial, hosts scan data in Amsterdam and keeps printed codes resolving after you cancel. Here is how the two compare, with every QR.io fact checked on 14 October 2026.

If you are looking for a QR.io alternative, you have probably seen the offer already: one plan, unlimited codes, a seven-day trial. It is easy to start with. This page sets that offer next to EUQR. Every QR.io fact comes from its own pricing and privacy pages, checked on 14 October 2026. Prices and terms change, so check the vendor pages again before you decide.

QR.io alternative at a glance

  • Price: QR.io lists one plan at $39.99 per month, or $350 for 12 months, shown as a reduction from $479. EUQR starts at €0.99 per month for 10 dynamic codes and goes up in steps of €9, €19 and €49 per month.
  • Trial: QR.io offers a 7-day free trial and a 7-day money back guarantee. EUQR has no trial. Static codes are free forever without an account.
  • After the trial: QR.io writes that static codes keep working once the trial expires. Its pricing page says nothing about dynamic codes in that situation.
  • Scans: both offer unlimited scans. QR.io shows how many scans, when and where. EUQR shows scans by country, device, browser and language, as aggregate counts.
  • Hosting: the QR.io privacy policy names Spain as its base and mentions hosting partners, without a storage location. EUQR hosts scan data and short-link data in Amsterdam.
  • Currency: QR.io shows its prices in dollars. EUQR prices are in euro, excluding VAT.

One price for everything versus paying for what you use

QR.io sells a single plan. For $39.99 per month you get unlimited codes and scans, custom landing pages, API access, bulk creation and five team members. That is easy to budget if you run many codes.

EUQR works in steps. Starter at €0.99 per month covers 10 dynamic codes and 50 short links. Pro at €9 per month covers 50 codes, 250 links and 4 seats. Business at €19 per month covers 200 codes and adds API access. Agency at €49 per month covers 1,000 codes and 5,000 links. A yearly plan costs ten times the monthly price.

Take a yoga studio with three locations. It wants a code on each studio door, one on the class flyer and one on the loyalty card for every studio. That makes nine dynamic codes. On EUQR Starter those nine codes cost €9.90 per year. On QR.io they cost $350 per year on the annual plan, because there is no smaller tier.

The picture changes at volume. Above 200 dynamic codes you need EUQR Agency at €49 per month, which is more than the flat QR.io price. If you run several hundred codes, the single plan can work out cheaper. You can compare every tier on the EUQR pricing page.

What the trial does not tell you

A trial is a good way to test an editor. It is a poor way to test what happens to printed codes months later. The QR.io FAQ says the free trial "lasts 7 days" and lets you create dynamic and static codes. It adds that static codes "will continue to work after the free trial expires".

The pricing page does not say what happens to dynamic codes made during the trial. That matters, because a dynamic code depends on the redirect server of the provider. If you print one during a trial and then do not subscribe, ask QR.io support first, before the posters go up.

EUQR avoids the question by not having a trial. Static codes are free and need no account. Once you download one, EUQR is no longer involved. Dynamic codes with an editable destination start on a paid plan from day one. If you cancel, they show your branded Recovery Page for 90 days and then a generic EUQR page. They never end in a dead 404. Our article on whether QR codes expire explains the mechanics behind this.

Where your scan data lives

Every scan of a dynamic code passes through a server. That server sees the request, including the IP address of the phone. Where it runs and what it keeps is a fair question for any European business.

The QR.io privacy policy says the service is based in Spain. So is Nexo IV Grupo SL, the company behind EUQR, which means the difference here is not about one side of the Atlantic or the other. The policy mentions website hosting partners and a third party for automated fraud detection when you submit an email address. It does not name a storage location, and it names no legal entity beyond "QR.io".

EUQR publishes where it runs. Scan data and short-link data are hosted in Amsterdam. We never store raw IP addresses. The privacy-preserving scan statistics come from daily-rotated hashes, and the redirect sets no tracking cookies. Payments run through Stripe, as they do at QR.io.

Where QR.io still makes sense

QR.io is a reasonable choice in several cases, and it is better to say so here than to leave it out.

  • You need hundreds or thousands of dynamic codes and want one fixed monthly price.
  • You want bulk creation. QR.io lists it on its plan, and EUQR does not offer bulk QR generation.
  • You want API access on the entry price. EUQR includes the API from Business at €19 per month.
  • You prefer the design options and landing page types that QR.io offers.

EUQR also does not offer geo-routing, A/B tests, frames around the code, or WiFi and vCard codes from its generator. A custom domain is only part of Enterprise.

Who each one is for

QR.io fits teams that run large volumes of codes and value one invoice line over a smaller entry price. The seven-day trial lets you test the editor before you pay.

EUQR fits small and mid-sized businesses that need a handful to a few hundred dynamic codes. It suits teams that want to pay in euro and want to know where scans are processed. It also fits anyone who wants short links and QR codes in one plan, with a Recovery Page behind every printed code. Frequently asked questions

Is EUQR cheaper than QR.io?
For small and medium volumes, yes. Ten dynamic codes cost €0.99 per month or €9.90 per year on EUQR Starter, against $39.99 per month or $350 per year on the single QR.io plan (checked 14 October 2026). Above roughly 200 dynamic codes, the flat QR.io price is lower than EUQR Agency at €49 per month.
Does QR.io have a free trial?
Yes. QR.io offers a 7-day free trial in which you can create dynamic and static codes, plus a 7-day money back guarantee. Its FAQ confirms that static codes keep working after the trial, but it does not say what happens to dynamic codes. EUQR has no trial; static codes are free forever and need no account.
What happens to my EUQR codes if I cancel?
Your dynamic codes keep resolving. For 90 days they show your branded Recovery Page, which gives you time to reprint or move the codes. After that they show a generic EUQR page instead of an error. Static codes are not affected at all, because they never depend on EUQR once you have downloaded them.
Where does EUQR store scan data?
Scan data and short-link data are hosted in Amsterdam. EUQR never stores raw IP addresses and computes analytics from daily-rotated hashes, so the redirect sets no tracking cookies. Payments are processed by Stripe. The QR.io privacy policy names Spain as its base and mentions hosting partners, but it gives no storage location.
Can I move my QR.io codes to EUQR?
Printed dynamic codes point to the short domain of the provider that made them, so no service can take them over. You can create new EUQR codes, point both old and new codes to the same pages, and swap the print over time. Static codes need no move, because the destination is stored in the code itself.
